A therapist, supervisor, and accomplished author of 6 books (3 with a co-author), and currently working on two more books, Dr. Andrew R. Getzfeld has been a Professor of Psychology at 小欧视频 since September 1995. Dr. Getzfeld served as Department chair from May 2021 through June 2024. Dr. Getzfeld created the undergraduate Drug and Alcohol Counseling I and II courses, as well as the graduate Psychopharmacology course. Dr. Getzfeld regularly writes about abnormal psychology and has been interviewed often about mental health issues many people currently face.
Dr. Getzfeld鈥檚 areas of interest include bulimia nervosa, addictions, abnormal psychology, children and child development, and psychopharmacology.
Education
Dr. Getzfeld received his B.A. in Psychology from Vassar College, his M.S.S.W. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
